LEVERAGE THE POWER OF GIVING TO CONTRIBUTE TO GLOBAL CHANGE
Calling Chicago-area high school juniors and seniors and undergraduates to be a part of the first Youth Leadership in Connective Philanthropy program.

Join 25 of your peers in a new global leadership program that teaches you about and empowers you to leverage the power of global philanthropy. Through this program you will:

  • Learn about the contemporary world of global philanthropy and why you don’t need to be wealthy to make a difference
  • Learn from and interact with nonprofit leaders from around the world
  • Learn about exciting global change projects driven by other youth leaders
  • Participate in a “virtual foundation” through which you will allocate real resources to exciting global problem solving initiatives around the world
  • Bring your new skills back to your own community to leverage the power of social networks to expand your ability to create change.

The program involves:

  • Participation in the fourth annual Chicago Global Donors Network Conference, to be held in downtown Chicago on September 24-25, 2007
  • Participation in an intensive one-day pre-conference youth leadership training program on Sunday, September 23, also to be held downtown
  • Membership in a “virtual foundation” created for you and your fellow program participants, including responsibility for raising and allocating funds
  • 1-2 “virtual foundation” meetings after the conference
  • Participation in a “community connection” where you share lessons with members of your school community
